This poem is my first introduction to Hazel Hall, Liz! After exploring some of her poems, I I find that she offers a unique perspective on nature, human emotions, and the complexities of life. Her vivid imagery and lyrical language invites me to explore the beauty and struggles of life through her words. She reminded me of the poetry of Edna St Vincent Millay, so it didn’t come as a surprise that Edna was one of her favourite poets.
I remember your profound recitation, Liz! There is a meditative quality that comes through each of her words. How carefully she chooses them. Thank you so much for the link.
The poems I've read of hers I've liked. I should read more of her work.

I had a feeling I'd featured one of her poems on my site. I just found it. https://lizgauffreau.com/2023/08/09/before-quiet-a-poem-for-a-summers-day/
