Returning from Retreat
I’ve just returned from a time of retreat in Norway, where the fjords and mountains invited quiet reflection. Travel has a way of reminding me how essential it is to pause, to listen, and to let the world speak in its own voice.
Coming back to this Substack space, I feel the need to reaffirm what matters most to me: reading, reflection, and calmness in a busy and complex world.
This space is my front porch—a place to meet you with letters, thoughts, and gentle invitations. My deeper work continues to live in my WordPress homes, where essays, projects, and conversations unfold in their own rhythm. Substack is a way to open the door, to welcome those passing by, and to offer them a pause before they go on their way.
In the midst of noise and urgency, I want this to be a quiet corner. A place where words breathe, and where books, poems, and stories remind us of the deeper currents that run through our lives.
It is good to be here again. Thank you for stepping onto this porch with me. You are a welcomed guest.
From my reading room to yours,
Rebecca

Happy to hear you had a wonderful break!
Welcome home, Rebecca! I desperately need a quiet front porch where I can go and just be.
